CBM exploration and extraction is relatively a new concept in Indian Industry. Methane is cleaner form of energy than traditional coal and oil. Exploration costs for CBM are low, and wells used to extract CBM are cost effective to drill. Jost’s has been successfully involved in the coal bed methane projects being executed in India. We have supplied complete instrumentation for the first project in India. The second project in India was executed on turn key basis by Jost’s Engineering Company Limited. The project required measurement of all parameter like flow temperature & pressure on the 30 wells spread across a radius of 40 km. After measurement of these parameters the instrumentation sizing was determined. Based on the site conditions & economic viability several options for data communication were considered like GSM, Satellite or radio mode. We finalized the radio communication mode. Today the project is complete with supply of field instruments like flow meter on gas line and water line along with flow computers, radio modems, radio tower was also supplied by Jost’s Engineering Company Limited. Data from the 30 wells is now monitored at a remote centralised location. We have successfully completed erection, installation, and commissioning of the complete project. |
